Air Quality Advisory Issued For NYC For Second Straight Day

For the second straight day, the New York City Department of Environmental Conservation has issued an air quality advisory for the city.

The DEC says the high temperatures will lead to high levels of ground level ozone, which can affect people exercising outside or those with respiratory illness.

High ozone levels can cause shortness of breath, chest pain or coughing.

Residents are advised to stay indoors if possible and use public transportation because car exhaust can aggravate the problem. The advisory is in effect from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
