Rep. Michael Grimm, R-N.Y., who recently earned notoriety by threatening to break a reporter “like a boy,” is turning to a former boy-band heartthrob to help him round up some campaign cash.
The New York Daily News reports that a fundraising consultant recently sent out a note to potential donors about several upcoming fundraisers for Grimm, including one at a Justin Timberlake concert in Washington, D.C.
Before Timberlake became a hugely successful solo artist and actor, he made a name for himself as part of the boy band quintet ‘N Sync.
Grimm threatened to break NY1 political reporter Michael Scotto “like a boy” after Scotto attempted to ask the congressman about an ongoing federal investigation regarding his campaign finances. The lawmaker later apologized to the reporter. The exchange happened during an on-camera interview after President Obama’s State of the Union Address last month.
