City Controller John Liu gets backing from city's largest public union, DC 37

District Council 37, the city’s largest public employees union, has voted to endorse John Liu for mayor in a further splintering of labor political clout.

DC 37 Executive Director Lillian Roberts said in a statement that her union would endorse the candidate most committed to “neglected communities and the public workers that serve them.”

Roberts stopped short of naming Liu, but campaign and union sources said Tuesday night that DC 37’s delegate assembly had voted to back the city controller for mayor.
