No Indian Point violations in former employee’s fudged reports

BUCHANAN – The Nuclear Regulatory Commission has determined that Entergy’s Indian Point facility was not in violation of any regulations when a former employee deliberately created false records.

Those records are maintained in the access authorization files regarding his contact with three individuals who were seeking site access.

That coordinator recorded in the files that he had spoken to one person about a financial matter disclosed in his personnel history questionnaire; a second individual about the response to two questions in that form; and to a third person regarding the failure to report an arrest. The coordinator had not spoken to any of those three individuals.

NRC spokesman Neil Sheehan said it was determined there were checks and balances in places to ensure that the contractors were ultimately vetted as required
