Democrat Bill de Blasio leads Republican Joe Lhota by 44 percentage points in the race for New York City mayor, signaling the first face-to-face debate between the major candidates did little to help the GOP nominee, according to a poll released Monday.
With the election just 15 days away, Mr. de Blasio, the citys public advocate, is leading Mr. Lhota, a former chairman of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, 68% to 24% among likely voters, according a survey from the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute.
Mr. Blasio outpaced Mr. Lhota, 71% to 21%, in the institutes last poll on Oct. 3.
Adolfo Carrion, a former Bronx borough president who is running on the Independence Party line, is a non-factor in the race, polling at 2%. The survey found 5% of likely voters remain undecided and only 8% of those who identified a candidate said theres a good chance that they will change their mind before the Nov. 5 election.

Mr. de Blasio is ahead among black voters (94% to 5%); Latinos (79% to 10%); whites (54% to 42%); women (71% to 21%); men (65% to 29%); Democrats (86% to 9%); and unaffiliated voters (55% to 33%).
