NEW YORK (WABC) -- Police have released new video in the search for a group of men who attacked a gay couple outside Madison Square Garden over the weekend.
Authorities want talk to eight men seen on the surveillance video taken near the incident, which happened just after 6 p.m. in front of 490 Eighth Avenue.
The 22- and 28-year-old victims say the men started yelling anti-gay slurs, then beat the couple up after the Knicks game Sunday. One of the victims has a broken nose. Both victims were treated and released from Bellevue Hospital.
Police had previously released photos of one person of interest. He is described as an Hispanic male in his 20s, approximately 6-feet tall with brown hair and a tattoo on his left forearm. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, white sneakers, a white Knicks jersey #7 and blue jeans.

It's a terrible thing that people can't walk safely in the streets after a frigging basketball game. It's worse that they can't walk safely in the streets because of who they are.
We, The People still have a long way to go.

I wonder if the day will ever come when people can just ... perambulate. No matter what time of day or night, alone or in pairs, or in a group, never mind their particulars...and no one will be intent on doing harm, and no one will be afraid of being harmed by others.
I know after a certain time of night, I put some zip in my giddyup so as to not appear to be lollygagging along--I do want to keep my wallet, and I figure the quicker I move down the line, the less likely anyone is gonna want to come after me. And if they do come after me, they're gonna have to get a little exercise first.
