Hynes Looks To Preserve DA Tenure On GOP Line

By: Jeanine Ramirez

Brooklyn District Attorney Charles Hynes formally threw his hat back into the ring Tuesday, but for the first time he's not running as a Democrat. NY1's Jeanine Ramirez filed the following report.

There were cheers of "Let's Go Joe" competing with jeers of "Joe Must Go" as Brooklyn District Attorney Charles Joe Hynes officially announced he's going to run again Tuesday.

After losing the Democratic Primary to newcomer Ken Thompson by 55 to 45 percent, the incumbent of nearly 24 years said he'll use the Republican and Conservative lines to keep his job and make history.

"I'll be the first Democrat who was elected on the Republican and Conservative lines," Hynes said.
