Hynes Renews Bid For Brooklyn DA On Republican Line

Brooklyn District Attorney Charles Hynes now says he will run again for re-election, despite losing the Democratic Primary last month.

The decision is a reversal for Hynes who has served in the post for more than 20 years.

Hynes already has the Republican and Conservative lines, and the question was never whether he would be on the ballot, but whether he would actively campaign.

Sources tell NY1 that a number of people have been urging Hynes to run. He has since been mulling his options, but told supporters at a Brooklyn restaurant last night that he will continue the campaign.
