Eyewitness News
BRONX (WABC) -- New Hawaii Sea restaurant customers in the Bronx should get the Hepatitis A vaccine as soon as possible, urges the Health Department.
Anyone who ate at the Bronx restaurant, either in-store, through catering or delivery, between September 7th and September 19th is considered at risk.
Five cases of Hepatitis A, one employee and four patrons, have been reported at New Hawaii Sea.
Hepatitis A is spread by consuming food or drink that has been contaminated by an infected person. Vaccination can prevent the disease from occurring, if the person receives the shot within 14 days of exposure.

(111,351 posts)but Hep A can be transmitted by contaminated seafood, too.
It's nasty but survivable.
When it's a non seafood restaurant, it's usually because some selfish jackass didn't want to take the time to wash his hands before heading back to the kitchen.
