Woman Struck, Killed In Brooklyn Bus Accident

An elderly woman is dead after being hit and killed by a bus early Thursday morning while crossing a street in East New York.

Police say the MTA bus was making a left turn onto Pennsylvania Avenue around 6:45 a.m.

Lyubov Angert, 82, was hit and pronounced dead at the scene.

"I heard a boom first and then I immediately went to the window," said one person. "When I got to the window, I saw the bus driver had pulled off, stopped the bus like this. She got out the bus, and about two seconds after she looked, she just went nuts on the sidewalk. She was crying inconsolably. No one could stop her."

large vehicle, but appears to be extremely distraught because of the accident. Peace and Comfort to the family's.
