Schenectady woman battles potholes with flowers

SCHENECTADY - Elaine Santore is going around the city, planting pansies in potholes.

She was tired of just how bad the roads have gotten. So she went out, picked up some pansies and soil and started planting.

She tells CBS6, “It's a simple little idea that I had to raise awareness that we need to fix these potholes, but we can do it in a fun way."

Elaine says her planting is working.

She filled a pothole with pansies Tuesday morning and by the time she left work the flowers were gone.

By the next morning, the pothole had been patched up.
