Cuomo says he has “overwhelming support of the union movement”

Joseph Spector

Public-employees unions have spurned Gov. Andrew Cuomo in recent weeks, choosing to mainly stay on the sidelines during his re-election bid rather than endorse him.

But Cuomo said the problem is really just with two major unions: the Civil Service Employees Association and the New York State United Teachers. They choose not to back him, which he said led to the AFL-CIO to also stay clear of the race and not endorse anyone for governor.
