14 Injured, 3 Seriously, After 2 Double-Decker Buses Collide In Times Square

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – Fourteen people were injured after two buses collided in Times Square Tuesday afternoon, sending debris flying a light pole crashing to the ground.

The double-decker, open-topped sightseeing buses hit each other at around 3:35 p.m. at 47th and Seventh Avenue.

The accident took place right next to the TKTS discount tickets booth in one of the busiest areas of Times Square, which was packed with pedestrians at the time.

A total of 14 people were injured in the crash, FDNY EMS Deputy Chief John Wieland said at the scene. Three of the injured are said to be in serious but stable condition, eight of the injuries are considered minor. None of the injuries are believed to be life-threatening.
