EMTs who stopped NYPD cops from beating handcuffed, emotionally disturbed patient turn officers in

Two FDNY EMTs who had to intervene to stop four police officers beating a handcuffed patient on a stretcher have turned the cops in to authorities, the Daily News has learned.

The emotionally disturbed patient was punched multiple times in the face by the cops on July 20, according to FDNY documents obtained by The News. The cops only stopped when the EMTs bodily intervened, the report said.

The violence broke out when the patient spit at the Emergency Service Unit officers and swore at them. The officers responded by hitting him in the face, hauling him off the stretcher to the ground and then tossing him back on the stretcher, the EMTs said in written statements submitted to the FDNY.

From now on, whenever those particular EMT's ask for police help, the police will take the long route getting there. And that treatment will probably extend to the EMT's entire unit as well. A message will be sent.

So will the EMT's then slow down when responding to an injured cop? No they won't, because EMT's have a different value set.

In the homicide of a man in Brooklyn has shaken some folks up. Kind if thing might be a "come to Jesus" moment.

Just because a cop does it, doesn't automatically make it right.

Especially the female who seemed the one in charge. She instead just bizarrely seemed to pretend he was fine. Didn't bring her oxygen or any medical equipment with her. As the article said, the first thing she should have done is quickly fed him some oxygen, at least as a first step. And as the ambulance worker surprisingly asked.."No one gave him CPR?" Aren't the cops also trained in mouth to mouth? Was it just the "icky" factor for them and were those EMT workers just too stupid to even try that?
The cops are to blame not only their assholish harassment and take down and killing of a big teddy bear like that, but for not stressing to the EMTs that the victim said he couldn't breathe. Not that those EMTs would have done anything. Serious lack of professionalism by them.

that is the case.

And they definitely believe they are above the law and that if anyone dares question them or does not respect their "authority" they will show them.

We have a serious problem of this attitude. I think there should be some intensive overhaul and oversight of all training.
