Court Appearance On Gun Charges Postponed For Man Who Recorded Video Of Eric Garner Arrest

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) – The man who took video of Eric Garner, who died in custody after being put in a chokehold by police, remains in the hospital after being arrested on gun charges.

The arraignment for Ramsey Orta, 22, has been postponed. Orta was set to appear in court Monday, charged with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon.

He was arrested Saturday night on Staten Island, a few blocks from where officers confronted Garner on July 17.

Orta has been at Richmond University hospital since his arrest and authorities said his arraignment will depend on his medical condition.
