French Pride Fills Cobble Hill For Bastille Day

Happy crowds filled Smith Street in Brooklyn on Sunday for Cobble Hill's annual Bastille Day celebrations, which marked the anniversary of the start of the French Revolution.

The French nationalist celebration could not happen without some spirited playing of the beloved game known as petanque.

Over the years, the neighborhood has become home to many French natives.

Bar Tabac began organizing the celebrations 11 years ago.
