Report: GOP Rep. Michael Grimm held on to FBI alias even after entering Congress

Tom Wrobleski

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - GOP Rep. Michael Grimm kept a piece of his undercover mob persona even after leaving the FBI and entering Congress, the Daily News reported, quoting newly unsealed federal documents.

The paper said that Grimm, who went undercover for the FBI as a wiseguy stockbroker known as "Mikey Suits" Garibaldi, had a cell phone listed under a "Michael Garibaldi of Centurian Consulting" as recently as 2012.

That was the year that prosecutors sought a court order for permission to track all his calls, the News said. Grimm was elected to Congress in 2010.

Grimm, who is under federal indictment, used the phone as his primary number as recently as 2013, the paper said, and received mail addressed to Michael Garibaldi.
