Cuomo Accepted Independence Party Line Before Formal Nomination

Nick Reisman

Gov. Andrew Cuomo told reporters on Thursday a decision on taking the Independence Party line would be made “down the road.”

“That is a decision we’re going to be making down the road,” Cuomo said at the time to reporters in Cooperstown.

Documents filed with the state Board of Elections show Cuomo signed a form officially taking the ballot line that same day, which was notarized in Suffolk County.

Cuomo appeared at the state convention in Suffolk County Thursday to deliver his nominating acceptance speech.
