Barack Obama becomes first sitting president to tour Baseball Hall of Fame

COOPERSTOWN - President Obama never played professional baseball, but he’s earned a spot at the Hall of Fame.

Obama became the first sitting president to visit the shrine to our nation's pastime Thursday, using the Hall of Fame’s hallowed Plaque Gallery to announce new efforts to boost tourism.

“I love baseball. America loves baseball,” Obama said.

“For any baseball fan out there, you’ve got to make the trip here.”
