Lady Liberty Greets Masses Once Again

The Statue of Liberty on Thursday began greeting visitors for the first time since the surge from Hurricane Sandy damaged much of the surrounding island.

The first ferries arrived after 8 a.m. and are running between Lower Manhattan and Liberty Island every 15 minutes.

Some repairs to brick walkways and docks are ongoing, but much of the work has been completed.

It was a much different picture after Sandy struck.
