DEC: No hunting wild boars

The state Department of Environmental Conservation announced Monday a new regulation that prohibits hunting or trapping of free-ranging Eurasian boars in New York state.

“The regulation is designed to ensure maximum effectiveness of DEC’s statewide eradication efforts,” stated DEC Commissioner Joe Martens in a release.

I would think that every boar that was taken out of the breeding pool would help to alleviate the problem.
