Rep. Dan Maffei's campaign wins key decision in fight to keep Working Families Party line

Robert Harding

A decision handed down by the Onondaga County Board of Elections could help U.S. Rep. Dan Maffei keep the Working Families Party line on the ballot in November.

Republicans are challenging the voter registration of Kane Miller, Maffei's campaign manager, who secured signatures for the Democratic congressman to appear on the Working Families ballot line.

While Republicans claim Miller is registered to vote in two other states, which would make him ineligible for registration in New York and prevent him from collecting signatures, Onondaga County election officials said an investigation revealed he is "qualified to be registered to vote" in the county.

If you're listening to the radio this week, you may hear the voice of Republican congressional candidate John Katko.

Katko, a former federal prosecutor who is challenging U.S. Rep. Dan Maffei, D-Syracuse, recorded his first two radio ads of the campaign that will air on stations throughout the four-county 24th Congressional District, including WAUB in Auburn.
