The accountant apparently had his number.

Rep. Michael Grimm’s campaign accountant was a key witness before the Brooklyn grand jury that indicted the two-term Republican last week, sources told the Daily News.

Wayne Muratore answered questions about suspicious expense claims and tax documents just days before the panel opted to charge Grimm after a two-year federal probe, the sources said.

But the accountant wasn’t saying much Saturday outside his Brooklyn home.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - Developments continued to come fast and furious regarding the pending indictment of Rep. Michael Grimm (R-Staten Island/Brooklyn).

The Daily News reported that the indictment is expected to be unsealed on Monday following Grimm's surrender to authorities and arraignment. Reports are that the indictment will involve Grimm's failed health food restaurant, Healthalicious, and that Israeli Ofer Biton, a key figure in the fundraising investigation of Grimm, is cooperating with authorities.
