Minor victory in District 41

Debbie Rodella has been the District 41 State representative for as long as anyone can remember. She has an A+ rating from the NRA, frequently defends Trump, is a hardliner on immigration, is anti-abortion, and is opposed to gay marriage. She runs as a Democrat but votes with republicans. The NRA showed up during the election and helped her raise money for the campaign. If she had won, she would be the longest serving representative in the state. She has run unopposed for the past ten years. Her husband is the former sheriff and is currently in prison for civil rights violations.

Yesterday, she was upset by newcomer Susan Herrera, a true Democrat and progressive running on a shoestring budget and grassroots outrage at Trump and conservative politics.

The winner of the Democratic primary wins the office. This district is so blue that republicans don’t even bother to run a candidate here.
