I have always insured myself but as my age and premiums went up, my coverage went down. It was pretty scary because now that I actually need health insurance I was in danger of losing it or at least ending up so under insured that it might as well be lost.

Since Jan 1st everything has changed. I have real health care again. My old $500 limit on testing (my Endocrinologist said it was like treating someone in Somalia) now has no limit. My prescriptions are now affordable. I was actually shocked to find out that I didn't have to wait to meet my deductible before I had blood tests, meds and doctor's visits. So far I have seen several specialists, had more than one blood test, sonograms, a needle biopsy and a consult with a dietitian and paid a total of $160 out of pocket. I may never reach my deductible.

If you haven't signed up...please do! You may be surprised what a difference good health insurance makes.
