Omaha.com: Sebring's sexually explicit emails spurred Des Moines resignation
The discovery of sexually explicit emails led Omaha's new superintendent to resign abruptly from her post in Des Moines last month, The World-Herald has learned.
Nancy Sebring, who is due to become the Omaha Public Schools superintendent in July, sent the "very personal, intimate" and sexually explicit emails from her official Des Moines Public Schools email account to someone outside the district, according to a document explaining the untold details of Sebring's departure.
Des Moines staff discovered the emails while responding to a public records request from The World-Herald and brought the emails to the attention of the school board's top two officials, the document says.
Within a few minutes after being confronted, Sebring offered to submit her resignation.
