US Sen. Klobuchar to run for re-election, not governor

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Democratic U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar says she'll run for a third term in 2018, meaning she won't run for Minnesota governor.

Klobuchar told the Star Tribune (http://strib.mn/2irrjoK ) that many Democrats asked her to run for governor, but that she felt it was more important to try to find ways to work with Republicans in Washington during the Donald Trump administration.

She said she's been "able to get through the gridlock" before and "can't just walk away when it's an ugly time."

Gov. Mark Dayton isn't running for re-election. Two Democrats, St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman and state Rep. Erin Murphy of St. Paul, have declared their candidacy.

So as to block the Rethug legislature.

Otherwise Minnesota will become yet another Republican trifecta state -- another Wisconsin.

Stand for. Their own interests are monied and should be opposed at every turn.

as all I have right now are completely unconfirmed rumors of who I'll keep the names to myself rather than add to the rumors. What I'm concerned about is too many candidates running, I'm not sure that is a good thing.

What is interesting though, is I haven't heard the name of a single DFLer from rural Minnesota who might be interested. That doesn't mean there isn't anyone who's thinking about it, but if no one from outside the metro runs, I really don't want to hear any whining about all the candidates being from the metro.
