where she's kind of useless except to fill a seat on the Dem side. She's a centrist weathervane, like Hillary. If Dayton could be counted on to appoint an actual progressive I might be OK with this idea.

She has tons of Judicial experience to boot. And Mark would be able to return to the Senate, now that his boys are all grown up.

and when a governor arranges to get himself appointed to the Senate, it does not end well. (Remember when Wendell Anderson did this, it resulted in Rudy Boschwitz being elected to the senate.)

I wouldn't be sorry to see this happen, but Amy-kins is no William O. Douglas.

Humane Society scorecard total is LOW. She was one of the first two co-sponsors to allow wolves to be shot again and since then they cannot put the genie back in the bottle. She continues to this day to talk favorably about her continued stance on wolves. She is on the Ag Committee and has been, as far as I can tell, a huge supporter of Monsanto and GE seeds, especially in regards to relations with Cuba which is known for having many organic farms.
Nope. I do not want her AT ALL on the Supreme Court. I want her here where we can keep an eye on her and hopefully replace her.

... Since Amy has no opinion regarding any issue of substance, her being appointed would be a waste of time.

she wouldn't have to worry about what any one thought. Which is what worries me, once she can unloose her inner Third Wayer who knows how much damage she'd do.
