Related: About this forumPioneer Press apologizes for calling President Obama an 'assclown'
This morning, the Pioneer Press created some waves by calling President Obama an "assclown."
The off-color remark came in the context of the PiPress's "Loop Ten" feature, which is a slideshow that serves as sports producer Kevin Cusick's "daily countdown of the top newsmakers, groundbreakers and world-class fakers."
Clocking in at a tie for number three in today's installment was "selfies." That entry is accompanied by an image of Obama holding a selfie stick in an apparent effort to take a photo of himself.
That's all well and good, but where Cusick got himself in trouble was with the text below the image.
"A fool-proof way to make yourself look like a self-absorbed assclown," it said.

I find this Fox local affiliate to be NOTHING like the notorious national Fox News, at least from several years of reading their stories alongside those of several other local news sources at http://news.yahoo.com/local/ . For example they covered the Cedar-Riverside fire (Jan 1, 2014) that burned that Somali American - inhabited apartment building with more concerned and longer-lasting coverage than any other of the news sources I saw.

(10,918 posts)1. Actually this was a scene from a longer video appealing for more Obamacare signups

The President wasn't really taking a selfie. The scene was a part of a longer video supposedly showing the President doing "normal things but was really an appeal for Obamacare sign ups.
Pulling any one scene from it is ridiculous. By the way, the video has aired on multiple media outlets and has gotten millions of hits.

(7,720 posts)2. I think your headline is misleading.
The one producer used the term 'assclown', not the Pioneer Press. The headline seems to imply the newspaper's editors apologized for something they put in the paper.

as well as several articles that I found when I googled "assclown pioneer press"

Could be. I don't know how that works.

(7,720 posts)4. The newspaper business is so bad that they
have cut their workforce to a bare minimum. There are basically zero editors checking online/blogger's content and just a few checking material that is in the print editions.
