House narrowly votes against limiting The Patriot Act

The Patriot Act was intended to let the government collect data on people suspected of terrorism.

Instead, it's being used to collect data on all of us.

Today, the House voted on whether to limit the Patriot Act. The restriction is called the Amash-Conyers amendment.

Votes of MN Reps:

Ellison & Walz & McCollum & Nolan voted Yes, limit the Patriot Act to spying on terrorists.

Kline & Paulsen & Bachmann & Peterson voted No, keep using the Patriot Act to spy on all of us.

The amendment was defeated, and so the Patriot Act will continue to be used against all of us.

Like most House votes, it never would have had a chance in the Senate, and Obama surely would have used his 3rd Veto to crush this thing.

Does Obama think he only gets 5 vetoes per term?
