Senator Klobuchar: Let's End DOMA!

E-mail from Amy.

In November, Minnesotans worked together to defeat two divisive constitutional amendments on our ballot. No one thought we could do it because no one had done it before.

But we proved them wrong.

At the same time, polls across the country are showing major shifts in opinion–a majority of Americans support marriage equality.

Now the highest court in the land has announced that it will consider the constitutionality of two same-sex marriage cases including the legality of the federal “Defense of Marriage Act” (DOMA).

The Supreme Court’s decision to hear this case is a big step in the fight for marriage equality.

But Congress needs to do its part as well.

Join me to stand up for equality for all Americans! Click here to sign my petition to help us keep up momentum toward the repeal of DOMA.

As a co-sponsor of the DOMA repeal in the Senate, I was there when it passed the Judiciary Committee in 2011. Now I’m asking you to make your voice heard and sign my petition to finally repeal DOMA in Congress.

This country was founded on equality for all people, and it is time to repeal this legislation both in Congress and in the courts.
