So, last Thursday I went to see our Congressperson at a town hall.

Ilhan Omar was in town and I went to see her. I had a question to ask her, but I did not get the chance. I probably would have, were it not for two people who decided to make a scene. Funny thing is, neither of their complaints had anything to do with the Congresswoman. One was a county matter which she was unable to address at all, (Duh, she is our rep in the federal government. There is a chain, regardless of whether or not we like it.) The other was one that she was unable to discuss at the podium, but told the lady that she would be happy to discuss it once the hall was adjourned. Both persons became disruptive and combative, at least until the rather large LEO started to walk over and then they both decided to leave the hall of their own volition. (The second person did not stick around to discuss anything, which shows me that she was not interested in discussion, she was interested in disruption.) I enjoyed Congressperson Omar's discussion and her highlighting the things she is doing for this district.

All in all, a decent evening.

I’m sorry that you didn’t get to ask your question. Hopefully you will get it answered. Her life must be 24/7 disrupters and threats. Good on you for getting there!

6. She told us about life after that orange gibbon and his cronies called her out.

Having to have armed guards around her and her family at all times... being forced to enter and exit the Capitol through 'secret' entrances... no real 'off' time due to constant vigilance. It sounds like a nightmare. And, it was all just talk, as no one tried anything. But, that is their goal. They don't have to do anything, they just have to threaten it. They are cowards for piling on a female congressperson who is just trying her best.

Which is why we need to slam the door on such rhetoric. Those who are clearly trying to stir up the 'unwashed masses' need to be held accountable. And, I mean accountable, not a limp slap on the finger. But, we know how that will go...

suffering the results she has. Accountability, we can dream and try not to give up! It’s getting pretty tough, I will say!

that the Star Tribune has a bee in their bonnet against her, constantly sniping at and writing against her. Including for things that other congress reps have also done, but they never even mention. Every little thing she says and does they seem to have a problem with, it's infuriating and annoying.

And they make no effort to contextualize her life experiences and background, either, which is disingenuous.

9. Pretty sure you can blame DJ Tice for that. Last I checked...

...he ran the editorial page, and he seems to have surrounded himself with a bunch of yes-men. They all seem to have it in for Omar, and as you have noted, they take constant potshots at her. Tice is also buddies with the execrable Katherine Kersten of the Center for the American Experiment. Just this past Sunday, she was given a half-page of the commentary section for yet another of her perpetual jeremiads.
