Has the issue of rent control resolved in the core cities?

I think that it is now in suspension because builders threaten not to build new dwellings?

After reading and posting about many seniors becoming homeless most in Florida where there is no rent control I wondered about here.

I do not leave in the core city and am not a renter so I wonder whether this has been resolved.
