ANN ARBOR, MI A 16-year-old will serve time in a juvenile facility for his role in a shootout at an Ann Arbor apartment complex.
Washtenaw County Trial Court Judge Archie Brown on Aug. 17 sentenced the teen to serve time at a juvenile facility until he is placed elsewhere as a state ward.
Brown said he had reservations about the agreement because the teen has a history with the juvenile system.
" B)ut for the agreement of the parties, I don't know if I would do this," Brown said.
Brown, seemingly irritated at the teen's choice to not address the court before sentencing, questioned if the teen even cared that he was being afforded the opportunity to go to juvenile detention instead of prison.
