BOSTON The U.S. Coast Guards newest National Security Cutter James will be available for tours on Tuesday at the Coast Guard Base.
The hours for the tours will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Boston Coast Guard Base, 427 Commercial Street. Visitors must present a valid ID to enter the base, and only purses and small bags are allowed.
The 418-foot James is the fifth of eight planned National Security Cutters, the largest and most technologically advanced in the Coast Guard fleet.
The ship is named for Joshua James, who is credited with helping to save hundreds of lives from wrecks off the coast of Hull during a 60 year career.
