‘People’s Convoy’ plans to circle Capital Beltway on Monday morning, organizer says

The “People’s Convoy,” a group of hundreds of trucks, cars and SUVs protesting the government’s response to the pandemic, plans to leave the Hagerstown Speedway about 9:30 a.m. Monday and head to the Capital Beltway for a second day of demonstrations in the D.C. area, an organizer said.

Organizer Brian Brase said the group, which circled the Beltway twice on Sunday, is aiming to loop around once on Monday. He said the group plans to occupy two lanes instead of one, as an “escalation.” The group’s motorists will drive the minimum legal speed limit, he said.

Authorities across the D.C. region have monitored the group and warned drivers about potential traffic problems in coming days. Some officials have encouraged drivers to avoid the Beltway when possible.

The group plans to stay at the speedway until “at least” Saturday, Brase said, adding that “hopefully this is all over by Wednesday.” He did not disclose the group’s plans for the rest of the week.

Freedom to make other's miserable. It smells like victory! What would be appropriate would be if a dozen or so cars got in front of the convoy, parked and walked away.

Q. What do the Starship Enterprise and a piece of bathroom tissue have in common?

A. They're both circling Uranus, looking for Klingons

Except in this case, the convoy nitwits ARE the cling-ons

Mad because Trump lost, the country is not as white as it once was, they have to love thy neighbor as thy self and the fake Christian’s are not able to, afraid to get a vaccine, won’t wear a mask and they are generally just self centered fucks.

I am supposed to feel for them, ok as a human, I am sorry they are miserable and have no idea of how to work positively to a better society. I am sorry for all of us. Additionally, I respect their right to have a temper tantrum, we have seen it before. We allow protest in the US. I wish I could understand what they wanted and a way to get there.

This is the same crowd who was cheering for the anti-protest legislation that was passing last summer and are now worried that it could be used against them.

These are interesting times we live in.

I am trying to visualize them endearing themselves to Monday morning Beltway zombies on the way to their soul-sucking jobs. They will make no friends that A.M. - should do it on a Wednesday.

so those who live and work in the area will be unable to obtain their goals of the day, what a GOOD idea! And remember to bring your flags, in case we forget what country we're in; few bombs here (at the moment, anyway.)

Try this one. I-70 runs through Maryland from north of Hancock to Baltimore. It's the Interstate that the truckers would take were they to head east from Hagerstown toward Frederick, which is on the way to DC. At Frederick, I-270 splits off from I-70. I-70 heads east to Baltimore, and I-270 heads southeast to DC.

Cameras By Route from I-70 at PA Line to I-695 at I-70

I-70 East at South Mountain is a good choice

Cameras By Route from I-270 at I-70 to I-270 at I-495. This is the big enchilada. Any camera on that stretch will work.
