Delaney: Time to end the shutdown and get to work.

This week, for the first time in 17 years, our government shut down. The illogical and somewhat mean-spirited standoff that led to this shutdown is first evidence of everything that is wrong with Washington. More specifically, it is a prime example of what happens when special or self-interest is valued more than the common good of the country.

1. I hope they do something!

I'm one of the many who are furloughed. I've been going back and forth for the last 2 days filing for unemployment and making sure I can keep my lights on, on top of keeping in touch with some of my co-workers.

Those thugs in the GOP should be tarred and feathered (among other things I've been seeing expressed on other web sites)! It's been a mess. All I can do is pray that this ends soon and very soon.
