YESTERDAY'S EMAIL:
Rachel Maddow began her MSNBC show last night saying:
"Congresswoman Donna Edwards is here. She is maybe on the cusp of pulling off what would be a huge upset in a Senate race in Maryland next week."
We could elect to the Senate a single mom who almost went bankrupt years ago because she didn't have health insurance. Someone who fought in Congress for a public option and has fought big-money influence in politics.
Donna told Rachel: "The voices of so many Marylanders who are middle class families, people who are struggling to get into the middle class, families like mine are really missing from the United States Senate...When all of our voices are at the table, I think we make better decisions."
You are busy. But you care. And this race is important. Can you please sign up for 1 shift making calls for Donna from your living room between now and Tuesday?
YES -- I get it. This is important. I'm in.
NO -- I'm sorry, I can't. But I'll chip in $3 or more to help Donna Get Out The Vote.
NO -- But I can volunteer in person locally. Show me the details!
Thanks for being a bold progressive.

(6,282 posts)He is also fighting the party (and a PCCC favorite 6 yrs ago), and if these two win their primaries we have a great chance of adding at least one more progressive Democrat to the Senate.
I am a bit concerned at the tone of identity politics that has been in this primary; I wish Democrats didn't exploit that in primaries, unless the differences are about policy.
