A question but no answer.

At the present there are fifty eight million people receiving social security, around forty million people receiving SNAP or better known as food stamps and somewhere around fifty million people receiving Medicare. I don't have a close guess on Medicaid but I would imagine it is around forty to fifty million. This only takes in the major entitlements and welfare programs. If you put it all together my guess is over seventy million people. The republicans want to eliminate or drastically reduce these programs. I have asked some right-wing politicians what do you propose to do with these people. Most often they try to steer the topic in another direction. I would respect them more if they said they can starve or get sick and die, its not my problem. The conservative voter either feels the same or can't connect with the Paul Ryan plan, they only worry about their guns, abortion, and taxes. The end result is people on the right have no answer as to what will happen to the elderly, young, and people below the poverty line. For every action there is a reaction and for every decision there is a consequence. Until the republicans have a reasonable answer they are the biggest danger this country has.

you may just have hit the nail on the head with this one! but in reality how many whining repukes do you know who absolutely preach against any kind of welfare (or social benefits as others call them) have relatives who use them? I'll tell you I know several personally! they either have grown children or grandchildren on ssi, getting food stamps, rent subsidies, heating coupons or using church or other free food banks or all of the above! And when you ask them if they are so against it why does your family use it? their answer well my family really need it! they aren't playing the system! hmmm drugs, alcohol and unable to show up for work was the reason he lost his job(include oui's and loss of license)! its the same old story their the first to grab and the last to pay the check!
do your self a favor go to a budget session in your town;see who is on the board! who do they work for? do they own a business ? who got last years bid? who whines the most about taxes at the local coffee shop?
hmm thought so!

Your right reminds me of years ago when I was living in Philly. A lady who was one of my employees was having a fit about black girls and their babies when this woman was at the doctor's office. This woman said this is where all our tax dollars are going for ADC At that time aid for dependent children. I guess I never knew enough to keep my mouth shut and I knew her daughter received ADC so I said maybe it was a good program and helped her grandchildren. She told me it was different because her daughter was a good girl not like those black girls. That was years ago but it seems as if nothing has changed.
