Angus King backs Obama for re-election, but that doesn’t mean he’d caucus with Democrats

PORTLAND, Maine — Former independent Gov. Angus King says he supports President Barack Obama’s re-election bid, but says that doesn’t mean he’d caucus with Democrats if elected to the U.S. Senate.

King said Friday that he believes that Obama should be re-elected after “seeing the likely alternatives.” But the former Democrat hastened to point out that he’s supported Republicans, including George W. Bush in 2000. He said, “I call ‘em as I see ‘em.”

And let's face it, the media will give King a pass every step of the way because he's an "independent." Just like Snowe is a "moderate."

And who did you support in nov. that ended up giving us LaPUKE? i F THE OLD GUARD PUT THE WORD OUT ONE DAY EARLIER WE WOULD HAVE A DIFFERENT GOV.
Who do you think put Richardson out of the primaries? He would have swept the election in nov.
Their is only one way a republican could win the senate race against King and that is if we put up a candidate that can't take 40% or more of the vote!
you see what a mess they have going on in miltynockett! read back on some of my posts.
back room politics put this party on its knees. the top were so sure they missed all the tell tale signs. they ignored the little guy, hence not only did we lose the governorship we lost the whole ball of wax!
Its time to concede that a strong democrat with king in race could very well open the seat to the right! I'm only one voice but I know King will pull more than Baldacci!

In a heartbeat! Angus would be a disaster for Democratic candidates for the next 8 years.

do you really believe in the jefferson caption? and why do you say for the next 8 years? last I knew the seat was for 6 years. we have already seen a net plus for King throwing his hat in the ring. The leading republican planning to run for Chellie's seat pulled out of the race! you see the ground swell is in our favor thanks to LePage and his administrators!
This group of voters swinging to the left are ours to be lost if we start acting like children and insisting to tighten our flexibility!
Believe when I tell you the republicans are on a path of self destruction and no need for us to throw them a lifeline!

I voted for cutler when I heard our candidate didn't have a chance! I think he would have made a better gov. than la pue!
No I don't think Angus would have run if cutler was in there!
now tell me do you think the right was sleeping while our party leaders were? do you think there wasn't out of state help in their campaign plan? As well as out side money!
they used the media, e-mail,twitter and face book! I know of several who have been on
everyday flooding the grass root system of the internet! their only object to put as much negative info out to defeat Obama and the democratic party. yet I see no one from the left
attempting to negate any of this.
In fact they live by this motto: tell a lie often enough and it becomes the truth!
perhaps you might try to help the party by joining in to counter some of the bullshit they are posting!
I know how they operate! do you?

I think King showed his ability to hide how he would caucus this early in the game. He is far to clever to expose his hand now. I see no one from the right that will garner the vote he will recieve.
