'Not a showoff.' Sharice Davids' quiet approach endears her to Democratic leaders

WASHINGTON -- When Rep. Sharice Davids arrived in Washington, Rep. Emanuel Cleaver was eager to mentor his fellow Democrat, whose district sits on the other side of the state line.

Realizing that Congress can be an intimidating environment, the eight-term Missouri Democrat told the Kansas newcomer to come to him if anyone gave her trouble.

“One day I said, ‘Look, if anybody bothers you or if anybody gives you any problem, you come get me,’’” Cleaver recalled.

He forgot that Davids, 38, the first Democrat elected to represent Kansas in a decade, used to trade punches in the mixed martial arts octagon as a hobby and didn’t need his protection.

Get all the attention but people like her accomplish things.

That is why I am impressed with Schiff, Swalwell and others who work hard, do not pick fights, but stand when they have to and fight.

AOC, the 2 Muslim women, i understand what they are trying to do but seem to think notoriety works. They should listen to the real Leaders who know how to accomplish things. Nancy Pelosi does.

Smart alecks do not impress me.

I liked Rep. Davids from the very first time I saw her on television. She is a grounded and thoughtful person. I think she has already shown great skills and it will be interesting to watch her as she plays the long game.

Women like Sharice get things done, work with others.

I like that she spends time in her neighborhood

Dance with the ones who brung them, or something like that.

The reason I admire Sherrod Brown. He keeps in touch. Think what he could do as Secretary of Labor!

DeWine would picke the most extreme Republican to replace him. Gym Jordan.

DeWine is worse than Kasich. He is extreme. Reason Sherrod beat him. Now we are stuck with him as Governor.
