McDonald's to work closely with Oak Brook in planning move to Chicago
McDonald's representatives have assured Oak Brook officials they will be partners with the fast food giant as it prepares to move in 2018 from Oak Brook to Chicago.
Village President Gopal Lalmalani said Tuesday that village officials had their first in-person meeting that morning with McDonald's representatives since the company announced June 13 that it was moving.
"We've had several telephone conversations with them, but this was the first time we actually met with them, and I feel much better about everything after meeting with them," Lalmalani said.
He said McDonald's representatives told him they hoped to hire a broker by the end of July to handle sales of company-owned property in Oak Brook. McDonald's owns about 150 acres on five different sites in the village.
