Question about Madigan:

My son insists that Lisa Madigan will not run for governor as long as her father is Speaker of the House in Illinois and chairman of our state party. I don't see why not. She is a great attorney general, and I think she would be a great governor. It is time.

Is there any law against it?

Madigan is 73. I sure hope he is grooming someone to be as powerful and ruthless as he is. (I don't think it will be a family member). With The Ruiner in office, we may need someone in the near future, someone who knows how to use power the way Madigan does.

I have not gone to Springfield for Governor's Day, which will now be Democrats' Day, for a couple of years. This might be a good year to do it. I would like to hear what people are saying about ways to combat The Ruiner, and who will run for governor the next time around.

No law against it. She just doesn't want there to be any hint of impropriety

Have you seen the commercials Ruiner put out against Mike Madigan? I think it's unprecedented that a governor has done that. I can't stand that jackass.

They are shocking.

I know that most people, across the country, not just in Illinois, are sick of commercials by the time election season is over. They are all saying, "Good riddance to that." They get tired of the phone calls and polls, too. Maybe most citizens will be turned off by the commercials, and turned off by Ruiner.

When you stop to think about it, most people don't know much about Madigan. They know the name, but they may be more familiar with Lisa than her father. He does his thing out of the limelight. He held a news conference last week, and it was carefully managed, like everything he does. He said only what he wanted, and invited only friendly people. But he is not someone who does news conferences!

I am sure Madigan has the next move planned. I will be surprised if he answers with TV ads. That is not his style. And he would not spend money on it, the way Ruiner is doing.

Madigan plays a long game. But Ruiner might just be stupid. He has to be. Everyone saw what happened to Blagojevich.

I can't wait to see Ruiner fall.

There will be no deal on the budget over non budgetary items. A tax increase will be necessary to balance the budget, but Rauner will have to agree to bring Republican votes to do it.

even people who like mike madigan are leery of the idea of his daughter being the one to hold his leash.
i love lisa, myself, but no way in holy hell i would support her for governor until daddy-o retires.

and the ruiner, what a fucking mess. my mind is just boggled.
