Just spent an hour in basement, scary but safe not so dry in Marietta. Damn Basement got a little water from the sideway rain.
That was one heck of a storm.

4. It was pretty scary here for awhile.

hubby is at work in east cobb. When I took cover in the basement, news had just reported damage in the area that he is in. I know he is ok cause there is a big walkin fridge...best place to be in a tornado. They are built like a bomb shelter with plenty of food and drink.

I'm in Marietta less than a mile from Woodstock and work in Roswell. I happy to say I have seen only one Gringrich sign. My neighbor(around the corner) has a sign that reads "Crackers for Cain" I kid you not.

7. Wind and Rain and Sirens

8. Home Depot in East Cobb was damaged.

Hubby was at work just a short distance from there ( a block down and across the street at Roswell Rd and Johnson Ferry) and we live a few miles away. A little scary for awhile but we are ok.

A powerful storm containing a tornado swept through East Cobb Friday night, knocking out power and causing damage in the Walton High School area, according to television reports and citizens.

There were no confirmed reports of a tornado touching down in East Cobb, but the Home Depot location at the Providence Square Shopping Center was seriously damaged. There were reports of heavy damage around East Cobb Park that prompted Cobb Police to shut down Roswell Road between Old Canton Road and Providence Road.

9. The worst damage was very close to me (Paulding County)

The Paulding airport was leveled, an elementary school near that sustained heavy damage, several (I haven't heard how many but saw a few) houses were damaged to the point that they'll have to be torn down, and many many more sustained heavy damage. We know 2 people whose houses were damaged. Some of the worst damage was only a block from the school my wife works at. In my estimation it looked like the tornado was about a half mile wide when it came through, we heard on the news that it was an EF-3 when it came through here, and I believe I heard it was on the ground for somewhere around 40 miles.

10. All's well here in Woodstock.

Just lots of rain, lightening and thunder. And those damn sirens going off were making me very nervous. I live in a mobile home and have no where to run.
