The rain happens mostly during the winter when most people stay inside anyway. The higher elevations offer skiing during the winter, decent snow conditions. The summers in Oregon appear to be dry and mostly sunny, with moderate temperatures. The late summer and fall there is to die for. The Oregon coast is exception, as is the forest between Portland and the coast. You would love living there. I visit, but wished I did not have family business interests in Florida that bend me here. My two favorite places to live would be the Oregon coast and Sonoma County California, on the coast side.

The winters are rainy but it beats snow. The rain is more of the drizzly variety. I think i read that Massachusetts getsaround the same annual rainfall as Oregon. We just don't get many heavy rainfalls.

OK, so sometimes he's kinda right about that. However, I have put in a few gallons of bottled water and some canned food - just in case the Bad Guys flip a switch on our power grid on November 6th. Could this be a test? The power on the Atlanta airport was turned off just last year.

Maybe my husband is right. Sigh.
