Alan Grayson pushes back on domestic abuse allegations

WEST PALM BEACH — An embattled U.S. Rep. Alan Grayson met with reporters Wednesday in South Florida to fight back against allegations by his ex-wife that he abused her repeatedly.

When asked if he would provide explanations of the four times his ex-wife, Lolita Grayson, contacted the police between 1994 and 2014 to claim he abused her, Grayson said he couldn't describe what happened except for in the most recent incident.

"The police didn't contact me with regard to the ones in Virginia, and with regard to the one here three years ago the short answer is she attacked me — the video taken at time demonstrated that, as did her own 911 call."

Grayson met with a handful of reporters at Dontee's diner in West Palm Beach, where he took questions for about an hour. It was his first sit-down interview in South Florida — a Democratic-rich territory he needs in the primary — since the allegations broke. Grayson, of Orlando, is in a competitive Democratic primary battle against U.S. Rep. Patrick Murphy of Jupiter for the Senate seat held by incumbent Republican Marco Rubio.

as sometimes arguments do become heated. However, when it becomes necessary to contact the police multiple times then there are definite problems in a marriage and the incompatibility rises to the point that they should no longer be married. It sounds like Lolita Grayson was fortunate to leave without any significant physical harm occurring, but the emotional and psychological damage remains an injury that takes longer to heal than the physical injuries.

Lolita Grayson even made claims of domestic abuse against this daughter.

The last time Lolita Grayson claimed abuse there was video evidence of her hitting Alan Grayson rather than him hitting her.

Either Grayson's lying or in fact, his ex-wife has a history of domestic abuse.

My friend has suffered for decades from abuse from his wife. Their marriage started with her hurling carving knives and glass vases at his head. She screamed at him. She hit him and he let her. When they had children, he learned to leave the house before things escalated to where the kids would see the violence. He never called the police because he was ashamed and he didn't believe the police would do anything. They're still married. She's been diagnosed with bipolar. And unfortunately the daughter seems to be like her mother.
