Vince Gray to run in Ward 7, Trayon White to run in Ward 8 in the June primary

Both would probably be preferable to the two current councilmembers in those wards (Alexander and May). I'd say they both have a decent shot as well. Though Gray lost the primary, the investigation on him (part of the reason he lost) has since been closed, and even when he lost the city-wide mayoral primary he retained support in Ward 7. Trayon White seems to have been able to consolidate the anti-Bowser coalition around his campaign this time, and several of the other candidates in the special election are now backing him. He also lost by less than a hundred votes last time around.

Bowser has been making a push to take over city politics (see the whole FreshPAC debacle), but if Gray and White win it will definitely set her plans back and replace to solid allies of hers with two opponents (Gray will definitely be an opponent, and it's hard to see how White wouldn't be). Should be interesting.
