It's going to hit Kent County not Sussex and then take the Turnpike north to 41 into Pennsylvania.

My friend is down in Broadkill getting her place shuttered up. They say this might be the first time Delaware gets a direct hit by a Hurricane ever.

they aid we will be in the north east corridor or the worst side.

I am going to say good by to my beach house, have flood insurance, but not hurricane insurance, so basically not insured.

I understand that it's probably seen as not worth getting hurricane insurance when storms in the past only happened every few decades. Y'all may see an uptick in people getting such insurance, though, considering this is the second storm in a year to slide up the east coast.

5. I just finished looking at all the Northeast State Groups on DU,

and this is the first state-group that's even mentioned the storm. I'm guessing that once it hits, it'll be a big topic on most of these groups.

But I have to ask: why are those of us that have direct, personal experience with tropical storms being so resoundingly ignored and dismissed?

7. Because this storm keeps heading south and probably won't have as much impact on the Northeast.

And anyhow it's more of a general discussion topic not just states only one.

and I didn't mean to disturb your group. I just thought it odd that there weren't any threads in the states along the coast or even inland. I guess I'm just used to seeing them in the Texas group when we have a storm headed our way.

Get prepared anyway, because you could still have power outtages from floodwaters. If the storm hits south of you, then you're on the wet side, where the majority of the rain will be.
