Support Mesa Verde National Park: Special Colorado License Plate Petition
The Mesa Verde Foundation (MVF), a private non-profit partner, is proud to lead the effort to propose the creation of a new Colorado specialty license plate to support Mesa Verde National Park, one of the first 12 UNESCO World Heritage Sites and home to nearly 5,000 known Ancestral Puebloan archaeological sites, including 600 cliff dwellings and thousands of ancient artifacts. The Mesa Verde Foundation provides financial support and other resources to support the park in its mission of protecting its cultural, natural, aesthetic and wilderness values. Entrance fees from nearly 600,000 visitors and government funding cover only part of park expenses, making MVF’s financial support critical for improvements, maintenance, special projects and educational endeavors.
