Costa (D-CA19) Retains Congressional Seat.

It was a squeaker but it's official.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. --
Democratic Rep. Jim Costa has narrowly avoided one of the biggest upsets of the midterm elections, edging out his Republican challenger, dairy farmer Johnny Tacherra.

Costa won election to a sixth term after the latest ballots were tabulated Wednesday in the three counties included in the 16th Congressional District - Fresno, Merced and Madera. He was up by about 1,300 votes out of more than 90,000 ballots cast.

The Associated Press called the race for Costa after determining Tacherra could not catch up.

Any word of Tacherra conceding yet? I understand he's in Washington DC along with the other loser, Doug Ose.

Tacherra to win at this point. He hasn't conceded, BUT, can you believe he was in Washington DC Tuesday for Freshman Picture Day?
